The Managable Malibu

Since the last three cars have all been Japanese, I thought it would be time to talk about a car closer to home. The Chevy Malibu is a great sedan that may be quite cheap, yet the interior does not give this away. There is ample legroom for both the driver and passengers. The driving is also reported to be smooth and quiet by multiple publications. The New York Times referred to the Malibu being “like a super Accord, but from GM” and Car and Driver has said, “Camry, beware.” In fact, compared to its rival the Honda Accord, the Chevy Malibu is cheaper, safer, and more reliable. The fuel economy is not bad either at around 30 combined mpg. There is also a pricier hybrid version available for drivers concerned about the environment. But, if you are looking for some fun, the Malibu also comes with the option of a V6 engine.

To conclude, the Chevy Malibu is one of the best used sedans available for under $10,000. I recommend purchasing a newer seventh or eighth generation model which is available for around $5,000.
